TŌTARA IS A GIANT OF THE FOREST

Become a part of Bushtown's living Tōtara forest legacy

Help grow Bushtown's Tōtara forest by planting your own Podocarpus Totara as a commemorative event - an ideal way to celebrate a family member, group or special occasion.

Each Tōtara tree planted has it's own special ceremony and is officially recorded through an engraved plaque, certificate with photograph of the event, tree number, GPS marked location and will become one of the specially designated Tōtara locations on site.

Our special Tōtara tree planting events are a core fundraising component for the development of Bushtown Heritage Site. Each Tōtara tree is $550 which includes a tree planting ceremony organised by our Bushtown Committee, with a site tour, photographic record, framed certificate and engraved plaque included. Care of your tree is undertaken in perpetuity by Bushtown.

Tōtara tree plantings are arranged throughout the year and to date over 160 trees have been planted by many families, individuals, corporate organisations, schools and trees donated in recognition of celebrated New Zealanders. Our Bushtown Committee members are more than happy to discuss with you a planting to suit your group or requirements.
